The red baron
The red baron was a man named Manfred von Richthofen. He got the name red baron because he was a freiherr or free lord, which is translated to baron. He also painted his airplanes red so he got the nickname red baron. Manfred was a german and was known as the greatest ace in WWI. He was credited 80 air combat victories and was well known by the other side.
